The notion that one might want to converse with people of similar intelligence to oneself makes sense...but the notion that one needs to join a club to do so suggests both that these folks, while able to score high on IQ tests, aren't very smart in other ways (you can't <I>tell</I> whether the person you're talking to is Einstein or W.?) and, you know, socially inept.
