Flickr Tricks
I uploaded a bunch of pictures to my Flickr account. I started cross-posting these to some of the Groups that specialize in pictures from Vietnam. I also started a Set in hopes of making the Halong Bay pictures a slide show since I have so many pictures and it is unlikely I would want to blog on all the pictures.

Up Your Nose....
Thursday night, three nurses tried to shove a rubber tube into my son's stomach through his nose. They failed largely because this in not a procedure that can be done without the subject's cooperation, and after the second failed attempt, he wasn't letting them have another try. The next morning a much gentler doctor succeeded. Since then the hose has been adjusted several times and remains in place.
The nasogastric tube is meant to relieve the paralytic ileus
that resulted from his emergency appendectomy. He has spent over a week without food and will be hospitalized until his condition relaxes and he can eat and digest solid food.

Sidebar Sob Story
The CSS files in the Blogger templates appear to be very browser sensitive. When I view the page in Firefox, all profile info falls to the bottom of the page below the posts, but the page looks fine in Internet Explorer, which I am loathe to use. So some people see the page as it's meant to be with all the links on the side, and some see a complete FUBAR'ed sidebar.
I'm gonna figure out some sort of work around in the template, but that seems awfully clunky.
Not that anyone is seeing the page besides me according to my SiteMeter report. Gotta start blogging or archiving some of my snarky Comics Curmudgeon commentary.

Matt is Recovering
My son Matt had his appendix removed Monday night, actually about 2 am Tuesday morning, in an emergency appendectomy. I guess there is not such thing as a routine or elective appendectomy. He is recovering quickly and is showing a strong independent streak already as he walks laps around the pediatric ward towing his IV.

Blogger.com Whackiness
For some reason, my latest post doesn't show up as the most current, while the Asia Trip blog works just fine. Something is fishy in Denmark.

Diary of A Newbie Blogger
I started a new blog based on my recent trip to Asia
I hope to post daily on it with pictures and stuff from the trip. I set up a flickr account to help me manage the pictures.
I also set up a separate Site Meter for the new blog and reset the counter for this blog. Now I will start posting the location of this blog to the Comics Curmudgeons and other places and see if any traffic results.
This blog will remain rather "meta" as I discuss what I do with my blog and experiment with links and postings and other HTML goodies.
