One of my favorite quizzes is the one that tells whether you are a Nerd, Geek, or Dork. But there are a lot of different types of nerds and geeks. The quiz below discerns what type of nerd (I would argue they mean geek, but that is neither here or there) you are among several types of different nerdy obsessions.
What Be Your Nerd Type? Your Result: Literature Nerd Does sitting by a nice cozy fire, with a cup of hot tea/chocolate, and a book you can read for hours even when your eyes grow red and dry and you look sort of scary sitting there with your insomniac appearance? Then you fit this category perfectly! You love the power of the written word and it's eloquence; and you may like to read/write poetry or novels. You contribute to the smart people of today's society, however you can probably be overly-critical of works. | |

While this marks me as a reading nerd, I come in pretty much a dead heat (86% vs 77%) as a math/science nerd. Since I'm an engineer that makes sense too. My literary side tends to get ignored by people that know me in real life since my livelihood is so nerdy. But my house is literally filled with books. Many are math, science, or science fiction, but I also have plenty of mysteries, beat writers, contemporary literature, and history.
In high school, one of my English teachers lamented the loss of literature as a common intellectual bond. I argued that serious literature would never go away entirely but would instead become just one of many obscure hobbies that people have. This quiz proves that. Reading is just another style of nerding out, like anime or costuming.
A recent study showed that one out of four Americans haven't read a book of any type in the past year. Even among people that have read, the median number of books was seven. That makes me feel a lot less guilty for "only" reading twenty or thirty books a year. Like sex survey quizzes, there are always a few outrageous outliers that skew the results. It seems that when it comes to reading, I am one of the promiscuous nerdy sluts.

I was obviously a musician type of nerd and my ranking top down was social, drama, lit, gamer, science/math, artistic and anime.
Somehow I can never seem to find the time to read books, although it's probably more a matter of priority. I suppose if it truly was a passion for me, I'd find the time.
I'm also a literature nerd, followed closely by science/math and gamer/computer. I read in fits and starts, devouring books some years and barely opening a dozen in others. But every day I read the paper and several blogs. This year I have probably read at least 20 books so far. That should drop off a bit when I start nursing school next year, as will gaming. :(
Somehow I came out as a drama nerd. Drama Queen maybe... but drama nerd, nah. LOL
I do enjoy reading so I'm going to proclaim myself a literature nerd.
Michele sent me. :)
83 music, 73 lit, social 50, artistic 33 (downgraded because, uh, I don't sew?!), science/math 32, gamer/computer 24 (the two are not at all the same: I have zero interest in gaming but like many things about computers), drama 21, anime 14 (which is odd, because all I know about anime is what it is). About what I expected - although man, some of those questions are stupid. The first one about sewing, say: there's no answer that's even remotely true of me. Plus: the word "partake" is not the same word as "participate." Increase my lit nerd points forthwith for that; also, increase my computer nerd points for being able to get the percentages from the alt-text box...
Congrats on hacking the quiz results. It seems to have been written by teens for teens, but I liked its thoroughness. I too would disagree with so many costuming questions.
Your Result: Drama Nerd
You sure do love the spotlight and probably have a very out-going and loud personality. Or not. That's just a stereotype, of course. Participation in the theatre is something to be very proud of. Whether you have a great voice for musicals, or astounding skills for dramas/comedies; keep up the good work. We need more entertainment these days that isn't television and video games (not that these things are bad, necessarily.)
No suprises there - and I love books.....
Hey yellojkt, Michele sent me to take your nerd test :-)

Oh, lit nerd. I didn't even understand the question about what my alignment was--when did chiropractors enter in to this quiz? (I did have it translated for me by my geek roommate).
Lit Nerd at 92%. Social Nerd came next at a rather distant 74%. I always have several concurrent sources of reading material going on, whether it's books, magazines, or stuff from the Net.
I got book nerd at 92%, social nerd (which I don't really understand; which questions are related to that) next, and Math/Science nerd third.
Musician and Anime nerd are tied for last, which is no surprise.
